1.Intorduction : Govt. Polytechnic Ahmedngar is established in June 1990 . This Institute is located in Industrialy backward district. This Institute is well equipped in all moderned essential infrastructual facilities ,like academic bldg, library ,computer center, modered laboratory equipment , furniture and other students amenities etc.

2. Courses: This Institute is running with following courses.

4.Community Polytechnic Scheme :

The scheme introduced under MHRD Govt. of India in1999. It is

implemented actually from Sept. 2003.Following are the objectives

1) Manpower development: Under which free of cost skill oriented training is given at main centre as well as extension centers .Up to this year 2004 – 2005 rural youth trained / under training. Around 12 different courses like computer hardware, mobile repairing, A.C. and freeze , electric motor repairing , tailoring and cutting courses ,turners /machinist , hobby classes which covers around 40 villages of Ahmednagar district.

2) Transfer of Technology : Proposed to disseminate information of non conventional energy sources.

3) Technical support Services : Giving services for repairing of computers , air conditioners , freeze ,electric motors.

It is also proposed to expand all over district.

4) Community Services: Arranging blood donation camp , repairing of instruments for social and govt. institutes. Under this scheme about 15 full time staff and 12 part time staff are working on honorarium basis .For details contact Principal .Shri S.M.S.Shashidhara / Project officer Shri C.P.Kamble .

5. Computer center: This institute has 3 well-equipped computer laboratories. Every

Computer lab is with good specified computers along with I/O devices like all types

of printers , scanner , LCD projectors etc. Internet facility is available for resource,

Information interchange. Different continuing education programs are arranged and conducted.

6 . Training and Placement Cell: Under this cell implant training for final year students in

the year 2003-04 most of the students are placed in industries like Sulzer India , Bajaj

Auto A’bad, Mahindra and Mahindra Nasik , Cararro India, Rajangaon, etc.
